MADISON, WI – Calling all cheese lovers! You’re invited to join the famous “B Team,” volunteers who help execute the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest, the nation’s largest technical cheese, butter, and yogurt competition.
“Each year, our contest grows – and each year, we need more helping hands to make it run smoothly,” said Kirsten Henning, Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) Events Manager. “Please consider volunteering your time and talent to support an event that builds excellence in the cheesemaking industry.”
WCMA is seeking volunteers both for entry check-in at the WOW Logistics warehouse in Little Chute, Wisconsin on Friday, March 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and during the judging portion of the contest itself, set for Tuesday, March 7 and Wednesday, March 8 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. All volunteers will receive lunch and an official B-Team Volunteer hat in exchange for their efforts.
Volunteer help is also welcome during the afternoon of Thursday, March 9, to help prepare the Cheese Champion reception, a charitable event set for the KI Center in Green Bay, at which the contest winner will be named. Volunteers will receive free admission to the Cheese Champion reception.
“Volunteering at the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest is hard work, a lot of fun, and gives you an insider view of the competition unlike any other. Join us, and see for yourself,” said Henning.
