Job Title: Dairy Ingredient Sales Manager

Description: The position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of dairy ingredient accounts; the coordination of all sales transactions; the collection and reporting of internal supply and demand data; the supervision of the customer service staff and the representation of Valley Queen at various industry trade events.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the sales department by cultivating a high-performance environment and establishing clear roles, priorities, goals and holding people accountable for achieving results.
- Assist the executive leadership team in the development and formulation of long- and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
- Develop and manage a capital budget and an operating budget, for board approval, that supports the growth and financial needs of the company.
- Drive and monitor plant success through Level 1 Scorecard to help promote continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all essential information is clearly and effectively communicated to team members in a timely manner.
- Direct strategies and tactics to create a safety-first culture by engaging team members at all levels of the organization.
- Prospect, develop and maintain dairy ingredient accounts by effectively communicating and negotiating with customers and potential customers.
- Ensure that sales are documented and recorded properly.
- Collate and report internal supply and demand data to support sales recommendations and provide analysis to support sales budgeting and inventory forecasting.
- Professionally represent Valley Queen at industry trade events while building a network of prospective customers.
- Provide direction in solving customer service-related issues and introduce and implement processes that improve customer service operations.
- Provide sales plan recommendations that demonstrate an understanding of basic dairy costing principles and internal margin goals.
- Recommend and execute risk management strategies that fall within company guidelines.
- Actively participate in the new product development process.
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Preferred Education and Experience in dairy processing and a wide variety of industry concepts, practices and procedures.
- Five to seven years of previous dairy sales experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
