Job Title: General Sales Manager

Description: The General Sales Manager will be responsible for managing a team of salespeople and office staff, creating a high-performance team to help drive revenue.  

The General Sales Manager will initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify their needs, build relationships, set targets to hit or exceed revenue forecasts, and ultimately work to ensure customer satisfaction.  The General Sales Manager will develop a comprehensive sales plan to achieve and surpass financial goals and business objectives.

  • Seeks out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business.  Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Evaluate new channel partners to replace ineffective ones, and/or to drive further penetration into niche markets or new geographic areas.
  • Attract, retain, train, and motivate a high-quality Brokerage network for specific accounts or geographic areas.
  • Attract, retain, train, and motivate a high-quality Distributor network where required.
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential. Monitor and analyze sales and market trends to report to senior management.  Develop sales forecasts and account plans for the short and long term.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities. Use this information to make recommendations for adapting strategies and product offerings.
  • Understand the specific needs and goals of each account and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Act as a point of contact for the accounts and address their inquiries and concerns.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure profitable business.
  • Coordinates sales operations with all other departments of the Company for a cohesive process.
  • Develops and/or maintains and improves business relations with all customers of Klondike Cheese Co.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams, such as supply chain, marketing, and product development, to ensure that the needs of customers are met.
  • Responsible for managing and controlling individual expense budget.
  • Effectively execute and manage every element of the sales process.
  • Responsible for driving revenue and refining sales processes.
  • Prospecting and growing an account list, handling incoming leads, and closing sales.
  • Development of online and offline sales strategy.

Experience, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university.
  • 6-8 years professional selling experience in food service, or related industry.
  • Between 7-10 years of experience with managing a comprehensive sales process.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding corporate objectives and quotas.
  • Successful achievement of increasing annual sales quotas for a multi-state region.
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Self-driven, motivated and results oriented. Possess the tenacity to bring closure to outstanding issues.
  • Proficiency with PC and Windows Operating system, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel Requirements: The position requires approximately 25% travel.
  • Sit 70% of the time, Walk 20%, Stand 10%, Bend at waist 5 x per week, Walk up and down stairs 5x per week, lift 10 lbs. 2-3 times per week, lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
