WCMA Health & Safety Group Meeting (Hybrid)

Wednesday, October 8, 2025
11:00 AM - 3:00 PM (CDT)

Event Details

Due to the federal government shutdown and associated furloughs, our partners at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) can no longer participate in our meeting on October 8. As two-thirds of the meeting agenda relied on OSHA engagement, we must postpone this event. WCMA’s Health & Safety Group meeting will be rescheduled after federal funding is restored.

You’re invited to join us for WCMA's Health & Safety Group meeting on Wednesday, October 8 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (CT). WCMA is offering two ways to participate: in-person at WCMA's training center, located in Madison, Wisconsin, or online via Zoom. WCMA's Health & Safety Group is open to all WCMA member employees.

This meeting's agenda features our annual, official meeting of the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, Occupational Safety & Health Administration, and WisCon, and an open discussion of trends and foci for future action.  Join area directors and safety consultants for this important conversation.

We'll also be offering a deep dive into confined space safety, detailing the frequency of incident in food manufacturing and - more importantly - ways you can reduce one of the industry's most serious hazards.  Nicole O'Connor from OSHA will bring us her insights on this topic.

Finally, hear from leaders in risk mitigation and dairy plant management as they share effective ways to communicate safety standards to workers with limited English language skills - because safety is everyone's right and responsibility.

Here's a look at a timed agenda:

  • 10:45 a.m.: Sign-In & Networking (In-Person Only)
  • 11:00 a.m.: Welcome & Introductions
