Job Title: Cheesemaking Assistant

Description: Uplands Cheese is a family-run dairy farm and cheesemaking operation in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. From May through November, we rotationally graze 175 cows and make two cheeses: Pleasant Ridge Reserve and Rush Creek Reserve. Learn more about our farm and our cheeses at uplandscheese.com.

We are adding several members to our cheesemaking team for the upcoming Pleasant Ridge Reserve season.  Starting in May, we will will bring on 1-2 people to work with us through mid-November.  In late August, we will bring on another 3-4 people to work the Rush Creek season, through mid-November.

Experience is not necessary, but enthusiasm for physical work in a detail-oriented environment is a must.  We work closely together, hold each other to high standards and have a good time doing it.  This is an excellent opportunity for a cheesemonger or someone interested in cheesemaking to gain experience with a small, professional and supportive family business.  This seasonal position also has the potential to extend into a full-time, year-round role.

Hours/Employment Type: Full Time - Expect to work 35-45 hours a week over the course of 5 days, We will help employees find rental housing near the farm, and a car is necessary for transportation in our rural area.

Salary/Wages: $20+/hr Depending on experience.
