Job Title: Cheesemaking Manager or Partner

Location: Monticello, WI

Description: The Silver Lewis Cooperative Board of Directors is seeking an experienced licensed cheesemaker who can lead cheesemaking and cheese business expansion for the Cooperative going forward.

Silver Lewis was founded in 1897. Its cheesemaking partners are retiring and a new cheesemaking partner is needed to continue operations.

The Board is willing to either employ or contract with a new cheesemaker/manager. Successful candidates will need knowledge and experience in specialty cheesemaking and demonstrate capabilities to manage employees, operations, finances and sales. For the right candidate, the Board is willing to consider a variety of employee/owner/contractual options as part of a new cheesemaking partnership.

Experience, Skills and Abilities: 

• 3-5 years of relevant specialty cheese making experience
• Experience with employee hiring and supervision
• Cheese Plant Operations Experience (milk intake, cheese making, and storage/aging,packaging and shipping)
• Business and Financial Management Experience
• Sales and Marketing Experience

Hours/Employment Type: Flexible based on role 

Salary/Wages: TBD on experience
