Job Title: Fluid Department Plant Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Description: The supervisor is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards across safety, quality, and operational efficiency within the department. This role requires proactive leadership to ensure all team members adhere to established procedures, while also identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement. The supervisor will monitor daily operations, address issues in real time, and collaborate with other departments to maintain a productive and safe work environment. A strong focus on coaching, accountability, and process optimization is essential for success in this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Achieve production goals and schedules set by management.
- Oversee employee scheduling.
- Conduct weekly employee meetings, covering safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Constant monitoring of work instructions, processes and equipment to continually improve the department. This includes creating new work instructions, helping develop new process logs, and making updates to these as needed.
- Review Daily Production for plant efficiencies.
- Basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Utilize all possible help through the Fluid Plant by assigning daily tasks for each operator or department to complete daily. This includes but is not limited to, corrective actions, Audits, IFSA, Safety Committee projects, etc.
- Enforce all Grassland Safety Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Work Instructions, and Operating Procedures.
- Handle all departmental discipline and performance evaluations.
- Provide and maintain a high level of morale and motivation throughout the department, and lead by example with a positive, confident attitude.
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Well Qualified Candidates should possess:
- Basic computer knowledge (word, access, excel, outlook)
- Willingness to provide support and assistance throughout their department
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot a majority of the equipment within department
- Professional leadership abilities and effective communication with strong organizational skills
- A thorough understanding of the policies, processes and products manufactured throughout the department
- Must demonstrate effective prioritizing, delegation, and control of staff and processes
- Demonstrate the Qualified Individuals responsibilities for Preventative Controls
Education/Experience:
- 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience
- Dairy manufacturing knowledge a plus (ex. Evaporators, UF’s, Separators)
Hours/Employment Type: Full Time
Salary/Wages: Commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications
