Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Location: Green Bay, WI

Description: Under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager has oversight of the maintenance program of the Howard facility. This position manages employees who maintain, repair, and service plant equipment. Responsible for hiring and disciplining employees. Candidates subject to a pre-employment background check and drug screen (excluding marijuana). The list of duties and responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time:

  • Manage the production maintenance group and the demand maintenance needs of the plant
  • Ensure all facility maintenance needs are addressed
  • Work with outside contractors on projects related to Winona Foods
  • Guide and train employees to develop a trained and efficient maintenance staff
  • Improve and update equipment and building to provide a safe, efficient, and effective work place
  • Obtain quotes and maintain contractor communications for maintenance related items
  • Use Auto CAD or equivalent program to sketch out projects
  • Be in constant communication with all other departments regarding maintenance issues
  • Assure security of premises including fire, electrical, water/sewer, lighting, doors/gates, vehicles, building
  • Work with local inspectors (i.e. fire department, boiler inspector, WDA, USDA) or state/city inspectors
  • Work in a safe manner, promote safety throughout the plant, and coach employees that are not performing safely
  • Write and maintain procedure manual
  • Adhere to monthly budget goals
  • Follow all GMP standards
  • All other duties as assigned

Experience, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent and six to eight years of facilities supervisory experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Experience with a Windows-based computer system (Microsoft Office programs and Maintenance Work Order software)
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as blueprints, schematics, work orders, etc.
  • Ability to write standard documentation and effectively present information to other employees
