Job Title: Material Handler/Yard Driver 3rd Shift

  • Transport trailers to and from loading positions in a safe, manner and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Remove skidded finished goods from production areas, and stage them for transfer to OK warehouse or to be directly shipped from Wautoma.
  • Maintain forklift certification and be competent in using electric or manual pallet jacks and hand trucks.
  • Take personal responsibility to engage in food safety practices to prevent hazards that cause foodborne illness or injury.
  • Provides good collaboration with Wautoma employees of all functions as needed, maintains a professional manner and teamwork approach.
  • Performs a daily yard tractor inspection, note any mechanical items to be addressed & tagged with out of service or repair status.
  • Assist compliance to maintain proof of insurance and registration in vehicles.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of vehicle and reports all accidents/damage/ malfunctions to Fleet Manager.
  • Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, proper signaling, and speed
  • Must comply with all company safety and personnel policies.
  • Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in outdoor conditions.
  • Ensures all loads are properly sealed after loading is completed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • When not moving trailers, will also be responsible for operating a forklift to load/unload material from trailers and completing all required documentation.
  • When not moving trailers, seek out direction from Plant Supervisor to take on additional duties. Sanitation, combining partial trailers, inspection of dock and yard areas to ensure safe trailer movement across all areas to and from docks.
  • Will transport deliveries locally or over the road according to manifest in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company procedures and applicable DOT regulations, if/when deemed necessary by Plant Supervision and Transportation team.

Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Education Preferred High School or better.
  • Licenses & Certifications Required WI State Drivers License
