Job Title: Packaging Engineer Intern - Summer 2026

Description: Sartori is a family-owned company that has been cultivating award winning artisanal cheese from Wisconsin farms for over four generations. As a packaging engineering co-op/intern, you will work with a cross-functional team focused on product design, process development, quality, and food safety.
Students will be exposed to a large variety of packaging processes, equipment, materials, and products. Additionally, during the co-op/internship experience at Sartori, students will interact with and learn from many different external packaging suppliers. This position would start end of May/early June and end sometime in August 2026.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Identifies sustainable alternatives to existing packaging formats, materials, and processes.

· Assists in documentation and specification creation for new and existing packaging.

· Develop packaging dielines and pallet patterns for new and existing products.

· Assist in creating shelf-life plans for new or changing products.

· Support validation efforts under guidance from Packaging Engineers for new packaging formats and changing packaging materials by attending packaging trials.

· Collaborates cross functionally to identify common challenges and apply established problem-solving techniques to assign root cause and recommended next steps for resolution.

· Assists Packaging Engineers in packaging prototyping efforts for innovation projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Packaging required.

· Strong understanding of flexible films, rigid plastics, and corrugated/paperboard materials is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

WORK LOCATION: This is a hybrid position (4 days in-office, 1 day remote - based on assigned projects) located at our Pleasant View corporate office located in Plymouth, WI.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Minimal travel, which may include occasional day trips depending on project assignments (estimated at 5%). A valid driver’s license is required.
