Job Title: Plant Quality Supervisor

Description: Responsible for reviewing general housekeeping, lab results and employee activities to make sure they meet required levels of quality while utilizing current GMP’s, SOP’s, and regulatory documents to ensure the quality and safety of all product while enforcing safety and sanitation regulations. This position will need to give direction to direct reports and employees when standards of sanitation or quality measures are not being met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance
- Able to work overtime as needed
- Able to work holidays as needed
- Follow all relevant procedures, SOP’s, and maintenance of quality records such as SQF, GMP, FDA, USDA.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Service, and cost objectives.
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
- Monitor performance and assign duties to the QC Techs and Janitorial Staff
- Monitor environmental, finished product quality and in process product test results for trends.
- Be proactive and work with production, sanitation and maintenance departments to improve finished product quality.
- Monitor and inspect production lines to ensure that quality and package integrity are within specifications.
- Assist Food Safety Director with internal, customer, and 3rd Party Audits and record inspection results.
- Work with production departments to develop and maintain accurate SOP’s for SQF compliance.
- Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality and efficiency.
- Conducts internal audits on all processes to ensure that we are following our manufacturing processes.
- Conducts process inspections/audits on critical processes
- Observe work, monitor records and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
- Consistently promotes and maintains a harmonious/productive team effort.
- Be able to perform tasks independently with little to no supervision within the first year.
- Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required to communicate quality standards and qualifications to other production employees and supervisors
- Ability to multi task
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience in a regulated industry desired
Hours/Employment Type: Full Time
Wage: $70,000 annually
