Description: The Business Analyst (ERP) is a functional expert responsible for leading specific business domains within the enterprise ERP ecosystem (e.g., Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory). This role partners closely with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives and operational needs into scalable ERP capabilities that drive efficiency, compliance, and measurable business outcomes.
This position is forward-looking and value-driven, focused on evolving ERP capabilities while serving as a trusted partner in navigating business challenges. As needed, the role also provides day-to-day operational support to ensure continuity and stability of critical business processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following with other duties assigned as needed.
- Functional Domain Ownership
- Serves as the functional lead and subject-matter expert for assigned ERP business domains.
- Owns end-to-end business processes within the ERP, including upstream and downstream impacts.
- Partners with business leaders and process owners to identify process improvement and optimization opportunities.
- Ensures functional solutions align with business strategy, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Requirements & Solution Design
- Leads requirements gathering and functional design for ERP enhancements and initiatives.
- Translates business needs into clear functional specifications, process flows, and use cases.
- Designs optimized workflows, controls, and data usage within the ERP environment.
- Collaborates with Application Engineers and Architects to ensure functional designs are technically feasible, scalable, and supportable
- Delivery & Value Realization
- Leads functional delivery of ERP enhancements from concept through deployment.
- Supports testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and business readiness activities to ensure successful adoption.
- Defines success criteria and validate that delivered solutions achieve intended business outcomes.
- Drives continuous improvement through iterative enhancements and solution refinement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partners with the Application Operations (RUN) team to ensure smooth transition of new capabilities into steady-state support.
- Collaborates with Application Operations Engineers and Architects to align functional and technical decisions.
- Coordinates with external partners, integrators, or vendors supporting ERP initiatives.
- Acts as a bridge between business teams and Information Systems to ensure alignment, clarity, and shared accountability.
- Continuous Improvement, Governance & Standards
- Drives continuous improvement of ERP-supported business processes by identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, and reduce functional and process debt.
- Partners with operations and technical teams to address recurring business challenges and influence scalable, long-term solutions.
- Adheres to and help evolve ERP functional standards, documentation practices, and governance processes.
- Contributes to roadmap planning, prioritization, and sequencing of ERP initiatives to ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Ensures functional designs and delivered solutions comply with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains high-quality functional documentation, process artifacts, and best-practice guidance to support consistency and adoption.
- Performs limited travel as needed to support project implementations.
- Participates in the Business Systems team’s on-call rotation as an escalation point for application support during and outside of normal business hours.
DIRECT REPORTS
This position is not responsible for leading others. The Business Analyst provides functional oversight and coordination for ERP-focused application resources, including Managed Service Providers.
WORK LOCATION
This is a hybrid position (3 days in-office / 2 days remote) located at our Pleasant View corporate office in Plymouth, WI. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel is required to meet the needs of the business (up to 25%). A valid driver’s license is required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered.
- 7+ years of experience in an ERP functional analyst or business systems role required.
- Deep expertise in one or more ERP functional domains (Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, etc.) required.
- Proven experience leading ERP enhancements and process improvement initiatives required.
- Strong ability to translate business strategy into scalable system solutions required.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills required.
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environment required.
