Description: Kelley Supply is hiring a Technical Support Specialist focused on sanitation and chemical solutions. This is a customer-facing technical role supporting Product Managers, Territory Sales Managers, existing customers, and new business opportunities in the food and dairy industry.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience supporting sanitation programs, chemical systems, CIP/COP systems, SSOPs, chemical concentrations, sanitation verification, or plant-level troubleshooting in dairy, cheese, food, or beverage manufacturing environments.

The primary need for this role is someone with sanitation knowledge, technical curiosity, and the ability to learn and grow into broader product and application support over time. This individual will serve as a technical resource for customers and internal teams while helping identify solutions, support product trials, troubleshoot sanitation challenges, and provide practical technical guidance.

The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Supporting customers, product teams, and sales teams with technical expertise related to sanitation and chemical solutions. 
  • Support Product Managers with current customers and new customer opportunities.
  • Serve as a technical resource for sanitation and chemical solutions in the food and dairy industry.
  • Provide product recommendations and technical support materials to customers.
  • Assist with planning and leading product trials at customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot sanitation programs, chemical applications, and customer challenges.
  • Support customer and prospect meetings as a technical resource.
  • Provide training related to sanitation practices, chemical use, and chemical safety.
  • Assist with testing, verifying, calibrating, or reviewing sanitation and chemical systems.
  • Help customers understand product applications and opportunities for added value.
  • Work with Product Managers and Territory Sales Managers to develop case studies and customer solutions.
  • Continue building technical knowledge of Kelley Supply’s product offerings.
  • Represent Kelley Supply in a professional, customer-focused manner while building strong long-term relationships.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    This is a remote/home-office based role with travel to customer and supplier facilities throughout the Midwest and other areas of the United States.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Degree in dairy science, food science, chemistry, microbiology, or a related technical field strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience in dairy, cheese, food, beverage, sanitation, chemical service, or related manufacturing environments will be considered.
  • Experience with sanitation programs in food, dairy, cheese, or beverage manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of chemical sanitation systems, chemical testing, concentrations, titration, or verification.
  • Familiarity with CIP, COP, SSOPs, GMPs, food safety, or sanitation verification practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot sanitation, chemical application, or plant-level issues.
  • Customer-facing service, technical support, or training experience.
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly to customers, plant teams, and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to learn new products, applications, and industry practices.
  • Cheese or dairy manufacturing experience helpful
  • Experience supporting product trials or technical presentations helpful, but not required.
  • Experience working with product managers, sales managers, or field sales teams helpful, but not required.

Hours/Employment Type: Full Time

Salary/Wage: $70,000-$90,000. The compensation range provided is a benchmark for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
