WCMA Joins Dairy Sustainability Alliance, Offers New GHG Workshop
Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), now a member of the Dairy Sustainability Alliance, is launching a new workshop set for October 29-30 in Madison, Wisconsin focused on helping dairy businesses understand and manage their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Registration for the workshop is open now at WisCheeseMakers.org/Events.
The Dairy Sustainability Alliance, created and led by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, is a multi-stakeholder group of companies, organizations, and individuals from across the dairy value chain—and beyond—who are committed to advancing dairy’s social responsibility efforts. Alliance members share knowledge, collaborate on industrywide challenges, and accelerate progress toward shared sustainability goals.
“Greenhouse gas emissions have become a critical sustainability focus,” said Danica Nilsestuen, WCMA Director of Sustainability & Grants. “Stakeholders and customers increasingly expect companies to actively monitor, manage, and reduce their carbon footprint. We’re pleased to offer this opportunity to support manufacturers and processors in their efforts to meet this demand.”
Led by experts from Harbor Environmental, a Terracon company, the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy, and leaders from the dairy processing industry, the workshop will offer hands-on guidance in understanding the three scopes of GHG emissions, conducting a GHG inventory, tracking and reporting progress, leveraging practical tools, and more.
This training is ideal for sustainability professionals or others responsible for GHG management, reporting, and strategy development for dairy processors or cooperatives. Registration is $750 per person for the first registrant from each company, and $250 for additional participants from the same company. Complete details and registration are available at WisCheeseMakers.org/Events.
