On October 12, experts from the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) and M3 Insurance will share strategies and answer questions during a webinar designed to help the dairy processing industry protect their businesses from cybersecurity threats, the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) announced today.

The webinar, offered exclusively to WCMA members, is the first in a new monthly series. In each session, members will have access to up-to-date information, expert analysis, and industry insights – all at no cost. Webinar topics will be determined based on WCMA member feedback and will cover a range of broad themes such as business development, communication strategies, and industry resources.

“In our fast-paced and ever-changing world, it’s more important than ever for professionals in the dairy processing industry to stay connected and well-informed,” said WCMA Executive Director John Umhoefer. “WCMA is proud to bring informative resources directly to our members so they can learn, find support, and grow their businesses.”

The monthly webinar series begins with WCMA’s cybersecurity webinar on Tuesday, October 12 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. (CT) via Zoom. Participants will hear from three professionals with experience in cybersecurity and knowledge of the food and agribusiness industries:

  • Michael Hemberger, Wisconsin Department of Justice Intelligence Analyst
  • Emily Selck, M3 Insurance Director of Cyber Liability
  • Jen Pino-Gallagher, M3 Insurance Director of Food and Agribusiness Practice Group

Following an in-depth discussion of common cyber attacks and practical strategies for managing cyber risk, presenters will answer questions from WCMA members. Members who prefer to submit questions anonymously can do so by contacting WCMA Senior Director of Programs & Policy Rebekah Sweeney.
